뉴잉글랜드 한국학교 보조교사 단합을 위한 뜻깊은 저녁 모임

지난 2월 2일, 뉴잉글랜드 한국학교 (KSNE) 보조교사들은 단합과 친목을 다지기 위해 Allston에 위치한 ‘bb.q Chicken Allston’에서 특별한 저녁 모임을 가졌다. 이번 회식은 학기 중 함께 협력하며 학생들을 가르치는 보조교사들이 서로를 더 깊이 이해하고, 유대감을 형성할 수 있도록 박현아 선생님의 주최 아래 마련되었다.

이날 모임에는 다수의 보조교사들이 참석하여 맛있는 치킨들과 떡볶이, 감자튀김과 같은 다양한 음식을 즐기며 자유롭게 대화를 나누었다. 특히, 서로의 일상에서 일어난 재미있는 이야기와 추억을 나누며 서로를 더욱 깊이 알아가는 시간이었다.

뿐만 아니라, 분위기를 더욱 화기애애하게 만들기 위해 ‘홍삼 게임’과 ‘프라이팬 놀이’ 같은 친목 게임이 진행 되었다. 게임을 통해 자연스럽게 서로를 더 알아가며, 긴장감 없이 편안하고 즐거운 시간을 보냈다. 게임 내내 웃음은 끊이지 않았고, 협력과 경쟁을 조화롭게 경험하며 친밀감을 쌓았다.

항상 봉사와 수업을 목적으로 뉴잉글랜드 한국학교 교실에서만 만나던 동료들과 뜻깊은 자리에서 소통하며 새로운 면을 발견할 수 있었다. 서로의 고민을 공유하고 공감하는 과정에서 더욱 가까워졌으며, 보조교사로서의 역할을 넘어 서로를 응원하고 함께 성장하는 동반자로서의 의미를 되새기는 의미 깊은 시간이었다.

특히, 이번 모임은 이번 학기를 끝으로 한글학교를 떠나는 보조교사들과의 따뜻한 작별의 시간이기도 했다. 함께 노력해온 시간들과 추억을 돌아보며 감사의 마음을 전하는 시간을 가졌고, 떠나는 보조교사들은 아쉬움 속에서도 소중하고 뜻깊은 경험을 남기고 앞으로의 새로운 앞길을 응원받으며 마무리했다.

뉴잉글랜드 한국학교 보조교사들은 이번 모임을 계기로 더욱 끈끈한 유대감을 형성하고, 앞으로도 협력을 강화하여 학생들에게 보다 나은 교육 환경을 제공할 것을 다짐했다. 이러한 친목 활동이 지속적으로 이루어져 보조교사들 간의 관계가 더욱 돈독해지고, 교육의 질 향상에도 긍적적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 기대된다.

An Evening Gathering for Korean School of New England Assistant Teachers

On February 2nd, the assistant teachers at the Korean School of New England (KSNE) had a special dinner gathering at bb.q Chicken Allston for the purpose of team-building. Ms. Hyunah Park hosted the dinner to help the teaching assistants, who work together with students during the school year, better understand each other and bond.

The many assistant teachers who attended enjoyed chicken, tteokbokki, and french fries while conversing. It was a time to share interesting stories and memories from each other's lives and get to know each other more deeply.

In addition, we played friendly games such as the Red Ginseng Game and the ‘Frying Pan Game’ to lighten the mood. These games helped us get to know each other better, and we had a great time. There was constant laughter throughout the game, and we bonded through teamwork and friendly competition.

I discovered a new side of myself through these connections with my colleagues, whom I had only met in the classroom to volunteer. I grew closer with them by sharing and empathizing with each other’s concerns, and it was meaningful to think about the meaning of being a colleague who supports and grows together beyond the role of an assistant teacher.

In particular, this gathering was a warm farewell for the assistant teachers leaving the Korean school at the end of this semester. We made time to reflect on our memories and express our gratitude. Despite their regrets, these assistant teachers left with valuable and meaningful experiences and received support for their new paths ahead.

The New England Korean School assistant teachers pledged to strengthen their bond through this meeting and continue cooperation to provide a better education environment for our students. If these friendly activities continue, the relationship between assistant teachers will strengthen, positively affecting the quality of education.
