2022년 9월 23일 부터 디즈니 플러스에서 방영한 MBC 금토 드라마 ‘금수저’가 11월 12일 마지막 방송으로 마무리를 지었다. 네이버 웹툰을 원작으로 한 ‘금수저’는 가난한 가족을 둔 이승천과 재벌가의 아들로 태어난 황태용, 그리고 이승천이 누군가와 부모를 바꿀 수 있는 마법의 금수저를 발견했을 때 벌어지는 이야기다.
전역후 첫 작품으로 돌아온 가수 겸 배우 육성재가 금수저의 주인공 ‘이승천’ 역을 맡게 되었다. 2016년에 대한민국을 휩쓴 드라마 ‘도깨비’에서 발랄한 금수저의 역할로 많은 사랑을 받은 육성재는 이번 ‘금수저’의 주연으로 돌아와 완전히 색다른 금수저의 역할을 보여주었다.
“너하고 동갑인 애 집에가서 그 수저로 밥을 세 번 만 먹어. 그러면 걔 부모가 네 부모가 되는거야.”
알바를 마치고 집에 돌아가는 길에 왠 낡은 금수저를 건내며 어느 할머니가 이승천에게 말한다. 처음에는 할머니한테서 이 금수저를 사간 이승천이 이해가 되지 않을 수도 있다. 하지만 이승천에게 이 세상에 돈 만큼 필요한것은 없었다. 흙수저를 물고 태어나 가족들과 반지하에 살았고 가족의 4억이나 되는 빚을 갚는데 보태느라 17년간 가난이란 것에 항상 쫒겨 다녔다. 이런 삶을 살아온 이승천이지만 똑똑하고 돈을 향한 욕망이 가득해서 대기업의 회장 자리를 맡기에 너무 완벽한 사람이라고 볼 수 있었다. 그래서 이승천은 금수저만 있으면 가난을 벗어나 행복한 삶을 살 수 있을 거라고 믿었다. 물론 금수저를 쓰고 얼마되지 않아 후회하게 되고 그렇게 딜레마에 빠지게 된다 - 나에겐 무엇이 제일 소중한가? 막화가 되서야 이승천은 마지막 결정을 내리게되는데 이것 또한 ‘금수저’에 포함된 많은 흥미로운 미스테리 중 하나다.
금수저를 보며 놀란 점은 배우들의 연기와 역할 소화력이었다. 주연 배우들 4명 중 3명이 아이돌 출신이라 많은 시청자들의 기대치가 낮은 편이었다. 하지만 방영이 시작되자 많은 시청자들은 연기의 몰입감에 놀랐다는 평가를 했다. 특히 이승천 역을 맡은 육성재와 오여진 역을 맡은 연우의 연기에 대한 호평 많이 들려오고있다.
배우 육성재는 흑수저 역할을 선보일 때는 답답하고 마음 아픈 연기를 보여줬다면 반대로 금수저의 역할을 선보일 때는 대기업의 후계자인 만큼 카리스마와 욕망 넘치는 연기를 보여줬다. 심지어 흙수저에서 금수저, 금수저에서 다시 흙수저로 바뀌는 과정에 복잡해진 생각과 흙수저와 금수저 둘 중 하나를 골라야 하는 혼란스러운 상황에서의 감정들까지 자연스럽게 표현했다.
‘마법의 금수저’ 라는 말만 듣고는 가볍고 뻔한 코믹물로 오해받을 수 있다. 하지만 금수저에 관한 소개가 끝날 때 쯤 약간의 스릴과 미스테리 요소들이 하나씩 나타나기 시작한다. 갈수록 조금씩 긴장감이 더해지면서 한 회가 끝날 때 마다 계속 다음 내용이 궁금해지게 만든다. 특히 이승천이 황태용이 되고 새로운 아버지가 된 도신그룹의 회장 황현도와의 권력을 다투는 관계도 흥미로워진다. 또, 이승천이 금수저로 자기의 삶과 바꿔 버린 황태용과의 관계도 재미를 더해준다. 그렇다고 해서 완전히 다크한 드라마는 아니다. 이승천과 황태용, 그리고 나주희와 오여진, 네 남녀 사이에 로맨스도 더해져 그야말로 많은 사람들이 즐길 수 있는 드라마다.
‘금수저’는 현재 대한민국의 경제적, 사회적 문제를 잘 표현한 드라마다. 돈이 사회 또는 개인의 삶에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 되돌아 보는 계기가 되기도 한다. 또한 어떤 선택을 하든, 안 좋은 일과 좋은 일, 그리고 후회가 따르기 마련이라는 것도 이승천의 이야기를 보면서 느낄 수 있다. 뻔하지 않은 내용, 몰입감 있는 연기, 그리고 교훈까지 얻을 수 있었던 드라마 ‘금수저’를 모두에게 추천하고 싶다.

Yook Sung-jae, who received a lot of love for his role as a lively golden spoon in the drama "Goblin" that swept Korea in 2016, returned to the lead role in "Gold Spoon" and showed a completely different role of a golden spoon.

What surprised me while watching Golden Spoon was the acting and ability of the actors to digest their roles. 3 out of 4 main actors were idols, so many viewers had low expectations. However, as soon as the airing began, many viewers felt that they were surprised by the immersion of the acting. In particular, the acting of Yook Sung-jae, who plays Lee Seung-cheon, and Yeon-woo, who plays Oh Yeo-jin, is getting a lot of praise.
Actor Yook Sung-jae showed a frustrating and heartbreaking performance when playing the role of a black spoon, but on the contrary, when playing the role of a gold spoon, actor Yook Sung-jae showed charisma and desire overflowing as he is the successor of a large company. Even the complicated thoughts in the process of changing from a clay spoon to a gold spoon and from a gold spoon back to a clay spoon and the emotions in a confusing situation where you have to choose between the earth spoon and the gold spoon are expressed naturally.
Just hearing the word ‘magic golden spoon’ can be misunderstood as a light and obvious comic. In particular, the relationship between Lee Seung-cheon and Hwang Tae-yong and Hwang Hyeon-do, chairman of Doshin Group, who became his new father, becomes interesting. Also, Lee Seung-cheon's relationship with Hwang Tae-yong, who changed his life with a golden spoon, adds to the fun. However, it is not a completely dark drama. It is a drama that many people can enjoy with the romance added between Lee Seung-cheon and Hwang Tae-yong, and Na Joo-hee and Oh Yeo-jin.
'Golden Spoon' is a drama that well expresses the current economic and social problems of Korea. It is also an opportunity to look back on how money affects society or individual lives. Also, you can feel the story of Lee Seung-cheon that no matter what choice you make, bad things, good things, and regrets will follow. I would like to recommend the drama 'Golden Spoon' to everyone, where I was able to learn non-obvious content, immersive acting, and even lessons.
