길었던 방학이 끝나고 한국학교 교사들은 새 학생들과 새학년을 맞이하며 보다 깊은 역량을 다지고자 협의회 연수회에 참가했다.
지난 9월 7일 재미한국학교 뉴잉글랜드 지역협의회 주최 교사 연수회가 열렸다. 뉴잉글랜드 한국학교 교사 및 보조교사들은 다른 학교 교사들과 함께 연수회에 참가했다.
연수회에서는 남일 회장의 환영사를 시작으로 윤성근 교육영사의 축사 및 한국학교 관련 질의 응답을 가졌고, 10년 이상된 교사들의 장기근속상 수여식이 진행됐다. 연수회 1부 개회식이 끝난 뒤 2부 순서로 4개의 분반강의가 이어졌다.
이번 연수회 분반 강의 강사들은 모두 뉴잉글랜드 한국학교 교사들이 맡았으며, 참가한 교사들은 본인이 선택한 분반강의에 들어가 개학하기 전 자기계발하는 의미있는 시간을 가졌다.
연수회가 끝난 후 뉴잉글랜드 한글학교는 100여명의 신입생들과 함께 입학식을 가졌고, 각 반의 선생님들을 만나보는 시간을 가졌다.
이후, 9월 21일 뉴잉글랜드 한국학교는 남일 교장의 환영사와 함께 전체 개학식을 가졌다. 남일 교장의 은 “긴 여름방학이 지나고 만나게 된 모든 학부모님과 학생 여러분 모두 반갑습니다. 더불어 2024학년도 가을학기를 잘 시작 할 수 있도록 방학 동안에도 교사연수와 과정회의 등을 통해 열심히 수업 준비를 하고 계신 모든 선생님들의 노고에 깊이 감사드립니다“라며 ”이번 가을학기를 풍성하게 시작할 수 있게 됨을 감사드린다“고 전했다.
이어 학부모회 임원 소개 및 각 과정 리더교사 및 각 반 교사들, 그리고 보조교사들까지 총 70여명의 교사들 소개가 이어졌다. 또한 모든 학생들은, 전교생 대표 백두반 장서원, 최재윤 학생의 선창과 함께 10가지 지켜야할 학교 교칙을 읽으며 개회식을 마쳤다.

After a long vacation, the Korean School of New England’s teachers attended a workshop to deepen their capabilities as they prepared for the new school year and new students.
On September 7th, a teacher training workshop was hosted by the National Association for Korean Schools (NAKS). The teachers and assistant teachers of the Korean School of New England participated in the workshop along with other schools’ teacher.
The first part of the workshop started with President Nam Il’s welcome speech, a congratulatory speech by the education consul Sungguen Yoon, and a Q&A session about Korean schools. This was followed by a long-term service award ceremony for teachers who had been working for over 10 years. After, the second part of the workshop continued, which consisted of four class lectures. KSNE teachers were in charge of the class lectures of this year’s workshop, and participating teachers went into the class lectures of their choice, having a meaningful time for self-development before the start of the school year.
After the workshop ended, the Korean School of New England conducted an opening ceremony for its 100 new students and a time to meet each of the class’s teachers.
Following that, starting with Principal Nam Il’s welcome address, the Korean School of New England had a full entrance ceremony on September 21st. Principal Nam Il stated,
“It’s nice to meet all the parents and students after a long summer break.” He continued, “I thank everyone for being able to start this fall semester so energetically.”
Next came the introduction of the PTO’s executive, each class level’s leader, the class teachers, along with the assistant teachers, adding up to 70 teachers in total. The entrance ceremony was concluded with all of the students reciting together the ten school rules that must be followed, which was led by Baekdu class’s representative students Seowon Jang and Jaeyun Choi.
